In Quinoa Recipes, how to cook Quinoa as veggie pulao which is one of the healthy recipes and gluten free recipes. It is protein enriched, quick and satisfying meal. It can be the best alternative for rice dishes. Quinoa is neither a grain or cereal, it’s a seed which contains a balanced essential amino acid needed for our health.

Ingredients –

Quinoa -1 cup (soaked for 1 hour)
Ghee -1tsp (Any oil can be used)
Jeera- 1 ½ tsp
Cinnamon stick 1/2inch
Green cardamom -2-3
Black cardamom- 1
Bay leaf -1
Cloves -2-3
Green chilli slit -2
Salt -as per taste
Garam masala powder -1/2 tsp
Veggies of your choice – finely chopped
Ginger garlic -1tsp (finely chopped or grated)
Onion -1 medium (finely chopped)

Method –

1- Wash quinoa and soak in for 1 hour in ample water.
2- Heat ghee in a kadhai, add jeera and all the khada masala.
3- Add slit green chilli and crushed ginger garlic. Fry for 1 minute.
4- Next add the chopped onion and fry till onion is translucent. Add all the veggies (capsicum, beans, carrot, corn) and fry till the veggies are semi-soft.
5- Add pinch of salt to make veggies cook quickly and easily. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
6- Add soaked quinoa and water. For 1 cup quinoa, add 3 cups of water.
7- Add salt and garam masala powder. Cover and let it cook for 20-25 minutes. Keep stirring in between.
8- Healthy and yummy quinoa pulao is ready. Tastes yum if served hot.
